COMMUNITY BOARD

The Community Board aka Church Council is a ministry and all those who serve are called to represent Christ and the Orthodox Faith to all whom they meet in all aspects of life. The Community Board of our church is a diverse group of Orthodox Christians elected by the members of our parish for the purpose of working together with the Priest in fulfilling the needs of our beloved community. The Community Board administers the affairs of the Community in co-operation with the Parish Priest. Some of the principal roles employed by its members include, but are not limited to, the maintenance of the church building, the good order of church services, organising various events, purchasing items needed for the church, staffing the candle desk, attending to the purchase of candles and the removal of spent ones from the candle stand, the distribution of bulletins  and the welcoming of worshippers, as well collecting money during church services.  As our church doesn't employ a sexton, at least one Community Board member is present at all baptisms, weddings and funerals to supervise the proceedings and be of general assistance.
